Tre piani che otticamente sembrano attraversarsi l’un l’altro, formano il volume di questo tavolo basso composto da tre diverse finiture: vetro fumé, acidato e trasparente.

Karim Rashid

Karim Rashid, nato a Cairo in Egitto nel 1960, è per metà inglese e per metà egiziano e cresciuto principalmente in Canada. Ha ricevuto una laurea nel Design Industriale nel 1982 dall’Università Carleton di Ottawa in Canada. Ha continuato la laurea negli studi sul design a Napoli in Italia, con Ettore Sottsass e altri, poi si è trasferito a Milano per un anno presso lo Studio Rodolfo Bonetto.
Al suo ritorno in Canada, ha lavorato per sette anni con Kan Industrial Designers. Mentre era presso la Kan, ha anche partecipato alla fondazione e disegnato per la Babel Fashion Collection and North dal 1985 al 1991.Tutti i lavori di Karim Rashid sono esposti nei musei più famosi del mondo, tra i quali sono presenti: il museo d’arte moderna di San Francisco e di New York e il Centre Georges Pompidour a Parigi. Con le sue opere Karim Rashid vince molti riconoscimenti e premi tra cui anche il prestigioso premio Red Dot Design Award.
Ha aperto la sua attività nella città di New York nel 1993. Ha lavorato per numerosi clienti a livello mondiale come: Alessi, Bonaldo, Vondom, Artemide, Fontana Arte, Umbra, Bobble, Prada, Yahoo!, Edra, Foscarini, Davidoff, Zero Disegno, Magis, Method Home, Issey Miyake, Totem, Pure Design, Zeritalia, Guzzini, Estee Lauder, Tommy Hilfiger, Giorgio Armani, Sony, Leonardo, Zanotta, Maybelline, YSL e altri. Oggi Karim Rashid rappresenta uno dei designer più famosi con le sue opere che tendono verso il futurismo.
