FontanaArte - Bianca wall lamp L

Bianca is a family of luminaires with the decoration on the diffuser surface features an orderly series of shallow delicate grooves etched into the white glass, yielding an effect resembling small footprints on fresh snow. Mouth blown and dipped in acid to obtain the distinctive ‘silk effect’ typical of fine glassware, Bianca diffusers are available in three different diameters to complete all types of luminaires belonging to the family.

Matti Klenell

Matti Klenell, born in 1972, lives and works in Stockholm. In 1999, fresh out of Konstfack, Stockholm's distinguished academy of art, craft and design, he started working as a designer for various European and Asian companies. His clients include Iittala, NakNak, Källemo, Moooi, Bals Tokyo, Muuto and Örsjö, to name but a few. At the same time, he established himself as a glass artist, developing a highly personal and unmistakable style, which earned him numerous solo exhibitions and commissions for public artworks. His work is characterised by an incredible variety of projects that combine art, craftsmanship and design and that have resulted in a new and original approach to traditional Scandinavian design.

FontanaArte

Fontana Arte specializes in glass processing and the manufacture of furnishing accessories. Founded in 1881 in Milan by Luigi Fontana, it began as an industry producing glass sheets for building purposes. It had Giò Ponti, Pietro Chiesa and Max Ingrand as artistic directors. It gained notoriety especially for its processing of curved crystal and production of lighting applies. Lighting is also design; numerous brands make it possible to combine functionality with aesthetics, making lamps, wall sconces, and spotlights true pieces of furniture. Among them is FontanArte, which has marked the history of lighting design. In over than 80 years of activity, the brand has received numerous awards, including the Compasso d'oro Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998, given by the ADI - Association for Industrial Design: "thanks to the collaboration with different designers, has been able to create a lively creative climate that has upgraded one of the historical names of Italian design.
