Flos - Black Flag wall/ceiling lamp

Black Flag is an extensible wall light that offers lighting flexibility thanks to the extendable aluminum arm that can reach 3.5 meters from the wall-mounted frame, made of the same material. Wall lamp and sculpture at the same time, Black Flag embodies Grcic’s experience in industrial design and demonstrates the experimental opportunities of his approach combined with Flos' technical experience. The luminaire offers both direct and indirect light. The intensity of the light upwards and downwards can be controlled through the dedicated touch buttons integrated into the stem.

Konstantin Grcic

Konstantin Grcic defines function in human terms, combining formal strictness with remarkable mental acuity and humor. Each of his products is characterized by a careful research into the history of design and architecture and his passion for technology and materials. Known for pared-down pieces, Grcic is often called a minimalist but the designer himself prefers to speak of simplicity. The KGID studio is located in the center of Munich, in southern Germany, where 6 product designers and 1 personal assistant work. The studio specializes in several fields of design, ranging from furniture design to commissioned works such as architectural projects. The languages of communication are German, English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Among all the Arco floor lamp, the Parentesi and Taraxacum suspension lamps (on the cover) by Achille Castiglioni, the famous Taccia lamp, the Aim, the Toio, collections of unmistakable elegance such as the String Light and other ultra-contemporary solutions, collaborating with the best known designers and architects on the national scene.
Among them, Philippe Starck and Antonio Citterio are respectively the fathers of the D'E-light table lamp and the Kelvin LED desk lamp.
