De Castelli - Aare wall lamp 120 DeLabré brass

The Aare Gorge in Switzerland bears witness to natural erosion, a consequence of the last glaciation. Here, a torrent originating from the melting of the glaciers has cut deeply into the rock, cutting it to the core; thus, light gradually creeps into its crevices, between thousands of years of limestone stratification.
The manual erosion technique applied to the metal blades retains this suggestion, recreating the natural appearance taken on by the rock on the surface. Thanks to the central cut, the sconces show themselves in the archetypal form of nature excavated by the ice, replicating its prehistoric beauty, as if they had been forged centuries ago.

Alexander Purcell Rodrigues

''The ability to quickly refine and iterate design ideas brings a playfulness to the creation of furniture - the constraints of architectural construction do not apply,'' says interior designer and product designer Alexander Purcell Rodrigues. The designer had always been fascinated by the two and somewhat opposite disciplines of innovative technology and manual craftsmanship. Thus, a decade after founding his interior design studio, he created the Atelier Purcell collection of furniture, lighting and textiles. With Tradition Redefined' ideology rooted in the brand's core, Atelier Purcell aims to create heirlooms for the future. The son of a British graphic designer and businessman with a degree in architecture from Cambridge University, Purcell worked for the iconic Richard Rogers Partnership. In 2009, he founded Alexander Purcell Interiors and Architectural, opening a shop in London and then expanding to Los Angeles and New York shortly after. He subsequently added furniture design to his portfolio working with Holly Hunt, Promemoria, Link Outdoor and De Castelli, among other luxury brands.

De Castelli

For De Castelli, metal plays a dual role. Furnishing, first of all, but at the same time interprets the architecture, the styles, the new trends.

De Castelli has made metal its language and has managed over time to build a wide range of furnishing accessories, lighting points but above all metal upholstery. Creations that at first glance could be unrelated to each other, and that instead are brought together by the presence of metal, a noble and elegant material taking on the most varied forms. De Castelli was founded in 2003, but its foundation is based on the experience of four generations of ironworking masters. It overcomes the classical conception of metal, understood as a "cold" material and relegated to the margins of design, and begins to produce objects in series, but at the same time unique, as the result of a cultural path that is renewed each time in an unrepeatable way. The continuous rise of De Castelli is witnessed by the many partnerships that the Italian company has established with the most renowned brands on the international scene. This was the collaboration with Maserati at the 89th Geneva Motor show, for which De Castelli lined the interior panels of the Quattroporte SQ4 Granlusso. For De Castelli, metal plays a dual role. Furnishing, first of all, but at the same time interprets the architecture, the styles, the new trends.
