Narcissus is a hand blown and handcrafted opaline glass centerpiece by Venini. Made with the opalini technique, it is available in two colors: Red/Talpa and Verde Mela/Talpa. Narciso is in direct derivation of Venini's historic Fazzoletto. This iconic vase reinvents itself, opening its petals, and extending them to bloom into this delicate Narcissus. Glass bowls blown in two overlapping colors. The workmanship, completely handmade, is evident in the pleating of the upper rim and the shading of the colors. The name Narcissus evokes reference to the corolla of flowers that are always different and unique.

"Born from nature and art, but above all from the technique of the Master Glassmaker who, with a rapid movement, enlarges the glass disc while keeping its outer profile free. The resulting floral shape is proposed soft, gentle. The beauty and colors trace those of myth."

Paolo Venini

In 1921, Paolo Venini, who was a Milanese lawyer with a long family tradition in glassmaking, founded the company that would take the name VENINI with Giacomo Cappellin, an antique dealer. The company was established with the goal of transforming the classic craft of the glassmaker into an innovative art that could quickly dominate the scene at the Triennale exhibitions in Milan, the Biennale in Venice, and of exhibitions all over Europe and the United States. A result that was made possible by the synergy, which was promoted by Venini himself, between master glassmakers, designers, and architects from all corners of the world that could anticipate and guide taste and imbue each model that came out of its kilns with a precise identity. Its confident aesthetical choices, together with the extremely high quality of the products, brought its glassworks increasing success among critics and audiences. Paolo Venini himself had been designing since the early 1930s: the Diamante glasses are from 1936, and, in collaboration with Carlo Scarpa, he created the Murrine romane.

Venini

For more than a century, the best master glassmakers and artists have met at the Fornace, founded by Paolo Venini, giving life to a story of excellence and innovation that begins in Italy but later spread all over the world.
The excellence of this brand is the result of the special combination of the exclusive techniques of the Murano tradition. The latter are guarded by the wisdom of the most skilled glassmakers masters, the experimental creativity of artists from all over the world. This is because in the Fornace nothing is left to chance.
Moreover, the high quality is the reflection of the constant search for perfection and the passion for innovation that characterize each stage of realization, in a perfect balance between manual craftsmanship and daring creativity, far from the fads. Finally, choosing VENINI means making your own a work of art of inestimable value, for culture, beauty and workmanship.
