B&B Italia - Parallel Structure table 

Monolithic, pure and dry presence that rejects any mannerism, the Parallel Structure table, starting from its name, proposes a design approach of architectural matrix, where the search for extreme simplicity is accompanied by cutting-edge technical solutions. The project’s starting point is the strong presence of two imposing aluminium bars simply joined by two side bridges. The legs are in solid wood, while the side decks - real lintels that connect the colored bars of aluminum - hide a metal core, necessary to provide strength and greater visual lightness to the whole structure. The collection includes two sizes and tops in different materials: walnut and oak in different finishes, for a choice that favors a minimal aesthetic, or extra light glass, which through transparency enhances the beauty of the engineering process.

Michael Anastassiades

Michael Anastassiades is a Cypriot-born, London-based designer. He founded his studio in 1994 to explore the contemporary notions of culture and aesthetic through a combination of product, furniture and enviromental design. Positioned between art and design, his work aims to provoke dialogue, participation and interection. He creates objects that are minimal, utilitarian and almost mundane but full of vitality that one might not expect. Anastassiades' works are exhibited in permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Crafts Council in London, the FRAC Centre in Orleans, France and the MAK in Vienna. Recent solo exhibitions include Time And Again at the Geymüllerschlössel / MAK in Vienna, To Be Perfectly Frank at Svenskt Tenn in Stockholm, Norfolk House music room at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. He has also designed products with various leading manufacturers including Flos, Puiforcat, Lobmeyr and Svenskt Tenn. In 2007 he founded Michael Anastassiades's company in order to produce his distinctive pieces, a collection of lighting, furniture, jewellry, and accessories table. The studio's philosophy is an ongoing pursuit for eclecticism, individuality and timeless quality in design.
