Enzo Catellani

Enzo Catellani was born in Zibello (Parma) in 1950 and began his experience in the world of light in the late 1970s, taking over a lamp store in the Bergamo area, which gave him the  prompt  to start designing his handcrafted lamps. His lamps are true sculptures of light, characterized by increasingly precious finishes. For his products he exploits elementary forms, readily available materials and intuitive creations. The best light sources and the cutting-edge technology that accompanies them blend with a design to Italian craftsmanship. "Put your soul into it. This is the basic rule I set in everything I do and have instilled in the people who work with me."

Giulia Archimede

She is a contemporary Italian designer. After pursuing classical studies, she deepened her academic career by focusing on interior and product design. She completed her bachelor's degree with a thesis about the concept of travel, entitled "The Fusion of Form, Matter and Light: Gmondo." With this thesis, she set thebasis of her work to come in the following 2 years, filled with journeys and discoveries. Satisfying her curiosity by embracing numerous cultures, such as those of South Africa and Finland.  She focused on designing furniture in wood. After founding, in collaboration with the LeftOver Design studio, the still existing carpentry firm BASE Milano, she experimented a lot and curiosity pushed her to work with other materials as well, especially light, the protagonist of her most important projects. What is presented in her works is a feeling, an emotion taking shape. Each object is a vector for expressing emotions in a way that would not be possible through the use of words. It is light that brought her to meet the company Castellani&Smith, which in 2019 launched her Alchemie lamp and Another Smith project, a collaboration that aims for an enlightened future.
