Louis Poulsen - Yuh table lamp
The luminaire mainly emits light downwards without direct glare. The angle of the screen can be adjusted to optimize the light distribution. The subtle opening at the top of the screen diffuses a soft light upwards. A mechanical system allows maximum freedom of movement and the ideal positioning of light in the working environment, in the living room, and in other spaces. The integrated LED technology offers a high quality of light, with continuous control of the reduction from 15 to 100%. It also has a timer that programmed, allows automatic switching off in a range of time from 4 to 8 hours and a function to set the constant lighting level whenever the lamp is connected to the main power supply. At the top of the stem is placed a single button with the dual function of switch and dimmer. The Italian-Danish duo of gamfratesi design created Yuh for Louis Poulsen in 2017. Also launched initially in black and white, the family has expanded with versions in brass and marble. Yuh is essentially a personal lamp. It is flexible and takes up little space. It can be rotated, raised and lowered to illuminate and create the right atmosphere in the desired area. The shape of the screen is determined geometrically by the movement it performs on the stem. The minimalist look is created by a circular shape at the bottom until the linear opening at the top of the screen. The name Yuh is the phonetic form of "you", the letters represent the sound of the voice to say "you".
GamFratesi
Studio Gamfratesi was founded in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. The studio is based in Copenhagen. GamFratesi’s design take its creative drive from a fusion of tradition and innovation in an experimental approach to the materials and techniques selected. Each with their own traditional background, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi draw on classic Danish furniture and craftsmanship as well as a classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach. Understanding a tradition and actively addressing it in the workshop allows it to be expanded it. From this cross-cultural substrate they create design that respectfully reflects tradition while also featuring unique embedded stories, symbols and associations, often expressed through minimalism way. GamFratesi aims to create furniture that illustrates the process and techniques that created it and reflects a persistent exploration of the several border zone between harmony and disharmony. They participate in numerous exhibitions; Milan, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Cologne, New York, Shanghai, London, Berlin, etc.
