Uto Balmoral

I don’t believe in design. I believe in ideas Uto Balmoral it’s not me. Uto Balmoral is the first virtual designer, is a character provokingly created to be a product himself, a project of the designer. The idea comes from a personal consideration about the concept of the ‘Designer as griffe’. The consciousness rising of this phenomenon gave birth, with declared irony, to the new character Uto who outlines his own image starting from the denial of himself in a game of balances between the will/need of appearing and hiding. Uto's research is for design that has expressive, metaphorical value to start a process able to go over the aesthetical sense and functionality as the principal scope of his work. Uto started his career in 2011 with the exhibition Maybe/Forse at the DAAL Gallery in the Ventura area during the Milan Design Week presenting the limited edition collection of tables 'Unstables' and the family of lamps 'The Putrella's Connection'. He collaborates with Italian and foreign companies including Tonelli Design, Officinanove,D3CO, Luce 5.

Seletti, a company history of vision and evolution. A story that began in 1964 by Romano Seletti, who from 1972 embarked on a series of commercial trips to the Far East, soon becoming a pioneer in the importation of household products - bamboo objects, enamel tableware and native Chinese products typical of the time. "Enthusiasm, passion, creativity and experimentation, over time the Seletti family has created a true brand that is recognised and established worldwide, a series of collections that have launched design classics," says Stefano Seletti. "I am also collaborating with people and personalities from outside the design world in the strict sense of the word: artists, visionaries, with whom I would like to cross some 'barriers'. My unusually non-academic training naturally leads me to be 'transversal', a journey into the idea of 'a new beauty'.
