Davide Groppi - Miss 1 matt total black suspension 2700K TRIAC/IGBT

Davide Groppi Sospensione Miss 1 Longho Design PalermoOne of my favorite lamps. Designed by Omar Carraglia in 2006.
So thin and essential ... The light on the table is wonderful, clean, refined and super elegant.
Of all the lights, Miss, the most beautiful light in the world.

Essentiality is the fundamental component of the project. A small metal tube to make a wonderful light on the table. A true dual project: sign and light.
Device designed to be powered by the Endless system.

Omar Carraglia

Carraglia’s collaboration with Davide Groppi and his studio has produced a wide variety of designs that are nevertheless characterized by a constant gloss and modernity.
Narrow and focused, with a clean line and defined geometric contrasts, the Mira 2012 lamp family by Carraglia shapes and defines the fulcrum of each space, while its floor lamps ABA 120 and ABA 45 table give a sense of novelty to a classic shape.
In addition, playfulness is another essential quality of many of Carraglia’s designs. This intrinsic sense of fun can be seen from the extravagant Imu, an outdoor lamp shaped like a birdhouse with bright colors, to the ironic Charles, which evokes the Darwinian theory tracing the evolution of the bulb in a single wall fixture, to the floor lamp Mister 2013 by Carraglia, a response and a complement to his suspension Miss 2006.
Pigreco, the new table lamp launched by Davide Groppi in 2019, reveals some intriguing new choices by Omar Carraglia.  The most notable is the inclusion of a natural wood base, which gives warmth and earthiness to the lamp, which in turn is a partially frosted glass sphere.  Pigreco evokes the soft and rounded shapes of the Cathode and Light My Fire models by Carraglia, but blends with its charm for precision in the perfection of a sphere.

Davide Groppi

It all started in a small laboratory in the historical centre of the Italian town of Piacenza during the late 1980’s. Davide Groppi was inventing and producing his first lamps and decided simply to use his own name for the name of the company.
Over time, creative independence and management have allowed him to develop his own brand of original and unique products, distributed the world over.
Projects that come from heart and mind, intuitions that emerge from a certain way of being and thinking, in which simplicity, lightness, emotion, invention and amazement are the fundamental elements.

Davide Groppi creations come about through the need to give life to something that is necessary or significant.
The things that inspire these ideas are works of art, ready-made objects, magic, the desire to make things with his hands or simply the urge to play and have fun with light.
