Empatia comes from the combination of the great tradition of blown glass and Artemide LED technology. The strong interest in the expressive potential of the material has led to the collaboration with master glassmakers, to acquire full control of the particular plasticity of Venetian glass and to work on the balance between surface and light, between thin densities and transparencies. The result are clear, pure objects that craftsmanship makes the pieces unique. Transparency and opacity are expertly dosed to obtain a glass that reflects and diffuses light without glare, without losing efficiency. The result is an optical machine that has its heart in a high-performance LED motor, which is separated from the glass emissive body in favor of thermal efficiency and performance. The light is controlled with maximum efficiency and guided to the glass diffuser through a transparent light tube with a very low absorption coefficient
