Raimond is a suspension floor lamp designed by Raimond Puts in 2007, for Moooi. Watching the light seems to observe the soft light of a starry night.
Moooi - Raimond R43 suspension lamp
The Raimond light is a perfect ball of mathematical ingredients punctuated by tiny LED lights. Watching the light seems to observe the soft light of a starry night. Raimond is also inspired by the geodesic dome, designed by Buckminster Fuller. The Raimond lights are the result of almost forty years of research and dedication of the self-taught mechanical engineer and designer Raimond Puts (1937-2012).
Raimond Puts
Raimond will always be remembered by Moooi as "the man who brought the starry night sky into our homes". If there is a kind of thread that has gone through the life of Raimond Puts (1937 - 2012), then it must be that of technical engineering. The machine designer who later developed this talent already at an early age, when he played with his Meccano toy box. Technical science has fascinated him ever since. During his technical training, he was trained in the art of metal and a new world opened for him. Over the years his constructions have become more refined and, using the LED technique, Raimond has found an extremely productive combination. In her work she sought the ideal integration of beauty and functionality.
