Ingo Maurer - Pic a Stic suspension lamp

Pic-a-stic is a suspension lamp that joins the playful and humorous collection of Ingo Maurer. The lamp consists of a set of 50 lacquered wooden rods and a rubber ring that fixes the rods "in the air". Andreas Walther, who comes from the field of "stop motion film", wanted to capture in his project the moment when the sticks of the classic game "Mikado" are released before falling apart. Pic-a-stic is available in two versions: a version consisting of white and black sticks plus two red sticks and a colored version with blue, red and orange sticks. In this way, pic-a-stic leaves room for free design and the owner becomes a co-designer, as in many previous models of Ingo Maurer. The lamp can be inserted in 14 variants, which can be varied and expanded by individual color combinations. As a single appliance over a table or as a group over a bar counter, for example, pic-a-stic can be used in both private and public areas. With pic-a-stic, Andreas Walther launches his first luminaire in collaboration with the Ingo Maurer team.

Ingo Maurer

Since the mid-1960s he has been creating special lamps and unique pieces that as an entrepreneur he produces and distributes worldwide.Since 1970 the headquarters of Ingo Maurer GmbH in Munich has been in the Schwabing district. A few years ago, however, the production and shipping departments moved to the outskirts of Munich having become in 2005 too cramped for space in the back yard at Kaiserstrasse 47.It has two large showrooms-the second after New York and the only one in all of Europe.
From creating lamps and lighting systems, setting up exhibitions and trade show appearances has been an increasing demand for the realization of designs, lighting planning and interior architectural work. Today, projects are an important component of our business.
