The three lights on the luminaire are designed according to the principle of the system of three reflective screens that directs most of the light downwards. The screens are made of three-layer blown opal glass, polished at the top and frosted sandblasted at the bottom and offer a soft and diffused light distribution. This uniform distribution, together with the reflection diffused through the glass, allowed to control glare and shadows. Each screen reduces the amount of light to the same extent due to their distance from the light source. PH lamp model numbers refer to screen size. Each top screen has a respective middle and bottom screen.

Poul Henningsen

Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen and is the son of the famous Danish author Agnes Henningsen.
