Louis Poulsen - PH Artichoke suspension lamp copper

Louis Poulsen Lampada a sospensione PH Artichoke Nero

With its 72 sheets forming 12 precisely positioned rows holding six sheets each, the suspension illuminates every space with 100% glare-free light. The luminaire ensures a comfortable and impactful light distribution, both inwards and outwards. The high quality of the light is also maintained in the energy-efficient LED variant that creates the same beautiful atmosphere around the suspension. When Poul Henningsen designed the iconic PH Artichoke for the Langelinie Pavillonen restaurant in Copenhagen in 1958, he chose solid copper leaves with a pink finish inside. The combination gave the organic form an extraordinary warmth and a light reflected with elegance coming from the light source of the PH Artichoke. To commemorate Poul Henningsen’s birthday, Louis Poulsen launches the PH Artichoke with the same materials and original finishes.

Poul Henningsen

Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen and is the son of the famous Danish author Agnes Henningsen. Educated at the Technical School in Frederiksberg, Denmark from 1911 to 1914, and later at the Technical College in Copenhagen from 1914 to 1917, he began the practice of traditional functional architecture, but over the years his professional interests were mainly directed toward lighting, the field that brought him most notoriety.
