Magis - Sequoia stool metallised grey H76

At the design stage, the name of the 'Sequoia' stool was 'Forest', because the division of the stem into two separate tubes was reminiscent of a branch growing from the trunk of a tree. Sequoia has a clean, clearly recognisable graphic profile, evoking a calligraphic character. The footrest is shaped like a small platform that allows a certain freedom of movement: it is as if it were a segment raised from the floor. The similarity between the shape of the seat and that of the base is an important feature, because it enhances the significance of the branch as a division of the stem. Various material technologies were studied before a type of construction was identified that was inspired by the technique used to assemble bicycle frames.
