edra - Boa sofa
It is a great soft intertwining, similar to a large nest, which also welcomes many people. Totally free of structure, it consists of about 120 meters of tubular padded with particles of elastic and breathable polyurethane, knotted with a large and skilful manual processing that requires the use of a group of highly specialized people and during an extremely long period of time in order to form the large irregular interweaving. Only for the final plot, 4 people perfectly synchronized between them take about 2 days of work. The use of time exceeds one week of work for each object made. The covering designed by the company exclusively for this model is made of special velvet that gives it a particular brightness.
Fernando e Humberto Campana
Humberto Campana, lawyer and Fernando Campana, architect, have been working together in San Paolo since 1983 in the field of artistic design. Their radical point of view is strengthened by the use of poor materials and industrial rubbish. Hand-made products represent the possibility of social redemption in a poor country. Their intention is to find a way for Brazilian design. In Italy, in 1997,they designed lights for O Luce. Some of their pieces appear in the International Design Year Book of 1997, edited by Philippe Starck. In 1998 the Moma in New York dedicated the "Progetto 66" exhibition to them, coupled with Ingo Maurer.
