The light source is protected from atmospheric agents by a transparent airtight capsule made from sealed polymethyl methacrylate with an elastomer gasket that helps achieve a protection rating of IP 65. As no glue is used in the assembly process, Mayday is easy to dismantle so that every part can be properly recycled.

The KGID studio is located in the center of Munich, in southern Germany, where 6 product designers and 1 personal assistant work. The studio specializes in several fields of design, ranging from furniture design to commissioned works such as architectural projects.The languages of communication are German, English, French, Italian and Spanish.
