The office accessories designed by Michel Charlot introduce unusual design baskets inspired by cartoons and sculptures, the different containers add a cheerful touch that will illuminate any environment. A sculpture by Hans Arp inspired Michel Charlot’s Happy Bin. In accordance with industrial production methods and material properties, the irregular shape of waste paper basket has been designed to look almost grown naturally. Happy Bin is made of sturdy plastic and comes in two sizes and a selection of colors.
Michel Charlot
After earning a degree in industrial design from the Ecole Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne (ECAL), the Swiss designer worked for Jasper Morrison Ltd in Paris, London and Tokyo. In 2011 he opened his own studio in Basel and started developing products for companies such as NAVA Design, Eternit, Camper and Belux. He has been collaborating with Vitra since 2013. Charlot’s goal is to achieve an efficient design, design and production unit. He has also won numerous awards and exhibited his works in numerous places in Luxembourg, Switzerland and the United States. Since 2013 he has taught industrial design at ECAL and Tama Art University in Tokyo

Known for producing the works of important designers and architects.The headquarters are located in Weil am Rhein, Germany, where the famous Vitra Design Museum is also located.This story starts in the post-war years, when two Americans, both architects, Charles and Ray Eames, decided to help a furniture dealer.The collaboration led them to design and then produce masterpieces for interior design, which are still very current today.
