Natural materials, innovative production technologies, artisanal details interact with each other and with the careful evolution of the instrumental areas: with new furniture, cupboards, dedicated containers that develop, internally, as real operating spaces.
Arclinea - Principia Kitchen
For this new project by Antonio Citterio, Arclinea starts from the essence, the basic principles of the kitchen, revisited: new technology in steel and natural cutting in wood. The extraordinary result is in the link between these basic principles. It shows something absolutely original, a new way to design the interior and the kitchen, through new combinations of materials and colors. Principia combines a material wood with a "rough" finish, to the innovative colors of stainless steel generated through the technological process of PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition). Natural materials, innovative production technologies, artisanal details interact with each other and with the careful evolution of the instrumental areas: with new furniture, cupboards, dedicated containers that develop, internally, as real operating spaces.
Description
Living in a modern and metropolitan context, preserving the pleasure of tradition, revisited by an aesthetic approach and a contemporary functional vision. This is the aim of a kitchen project in which Principia, with its characteristic wooden frame door, contributes to define the warm and welcoming atmosphere. A precise stylistic choice that goes hand in hand with technical finishes, such as the black pvd steel of the island’s Convivium doors and the Double Shelf, the glossy Nero Assoluto granite of the tops with the flooding of the operating areas, the glass of the wall unit doors. The modernity of the proposal responds to the space with an original layout in which, on the sides of the central island with snack Era, develops a corner solution: operating area with bases, back equipped, wall and glass wall cabinets dedicated to containment and technical equipment..
Antonio Citterio
Born in Meda in 1950, he opened his own design studio in 1972 and graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1975. Between 1987 and 1996 he was associated with Terry Dwan; together they built buildings in Europe and Japan. In 2000, with Patricia Viel, he founded a design company, active at an international level, which develops complex design programs, at all scales and in synergy with a qualified network of specialist consultancies. The studio has now assumed the name of “Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel”. In the industrial design sector he currently collaborates with Italian and foreign companies such as Ansorg, Arclinea, Axor-Hansgrohe, B&B Italia, Flexform, Flos, Hermès, Iittala, Kartell, Maxalto, Sanitec (Geberit Group), Technogym and Vitra. Another important fact, in 1987 and 1994 Antonio Citterio was awarded the Compasso d'Oro-ADI. Since 2006 he has been teaching architectural design at the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture (Switzerland). In 2008 he received the honor "Royal Designer for Industry" from the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers & Commerce in London.
Arclinea
Since 1988 the Arclinea project has aimed to bring innovation in the space of cooking. The first product symbol of a new concept is Italy by Antonio Citterio, who incorporates materials, ways and uses of professional equipment. New is the aesthetics of unalterable and resistant to water and fire steel, technically processed with the precision necessary for the best functional performance. The floors are deeper, streamlined and organized for preparation and cooking, with a dedicated double wash-for food and crockery, with the aim of giving the right working tools for the highest quality of the result. Over the years the professional concept has been extending to new products and is enriched with other technical solutions, more performing equipment, more sophisticated finishes
