Alessi - Ercolino bottle opener

Alessi is 100 years old and presents a series of limited edition products. The Ercolino bottle opener combines functionality and design in a practical and elegant object and incorporates a classic typology of turned wood. Designed by Andrea Branzi.

Andrea Branzi, after completing his Architecture studies in Florence, moved to Milan in ’73 where he still lives in and teaches as principal of Product design department at Politecnico University. From 1964 to 1974 he has been part of Archizoom Associates and later on co-founded Domus Academy, receiving the “Compasso D’Oro” Award for his lifetime carrier achievements in 1987. He’s author of several books about history and theory of design.

Alessi founded in 1921 as a Workshop for the processing of brass and nickel-silver plates, with foundry, it is recognized for the high quality of its products In nearly a century of history it has gradually evolved to become a leading exponent of the "Factories of Italian design".
