Berkel - Manual flywheel slicer B114 red
The return of the myth of Berkel's historic red 1898 series. The B114 flywheel cured meat slicer is the ideal machine for any type of cured meats. It is made of painted aluminium with stainless steel details and is equipped with a 31,9 cm blade.
DETAILS
It is the most compact slicer of the modern era in the Volano Berkel family. In spite of a 265mm diameter blade, clearly superior to the category, the new Flywheel B2 has super compact dimensions that allow easy positioning in the kitchen. The flywheel then protrudes below the feet of only 33mm thus allowing the opening of the drawers below the worktop; the usual attention to detail of Berkel products in this case makes the difference even more. Harmonious and proportionate, it maintains all the distinctive elegance of our Volano while providing the perfect cut long sought after by our founder Wilhelmus van Berkel.

Berkel
The history of Berkel began with Wilhelmus Adrianus Van Berkel. He was born in Enschot, Holland on 05/02/1869 and died in Montreaux, Switzerland on 11/12/1952. He was a butcher with a great passion for mechanics. His brains, urged by necessity to improve the old cut tools, induced him to invent the first mechanical slicing machine of his times and called it “Berkel Model A”. In 1899 Van Berkel established its first factory in Rotterdam. The following year, 84 slicing machines were produced and delivered by the Van Berkel’s Patent Company Ltd., and were: 76 Mod. A, 3 Mod. B, 5 Mod. C enriching the offer range. Since then the firm Van Berkel’s Patent grew continuously. It opened factories in Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, U.S.A., Southern America, France, Norway, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Spain, Portugal and Canada. It produced not only slicers but also balances, mincing-machines, coffee-grinders, bread slicers, and during the First World War planes, internal combustion engines, parallel lathes, and mechanical instruments generally speaking. It became one of the most important firm in the world.
