Gardeco - Pietra Filosofale Sculpture

Pietra Filosofale is an artwork by Raffaella Benetti composed of a bronze sculpture and a carved stone with a 24 carat gold leaf core. Pietra Filosofale portrays an artist who is contemplating his existence and identity. Inside the stone is pure gold that lends the artist light and spirituality, allowing him to finally be at peace with himself. Pietra Filosofale is beautifully texturised and skillfully patinated, which gives it a rich hue. It is even more mesmerising when illuminated with a spotlight directed towards the gold leaf center. Raffaella Benetti

Raffaella Benetti is an Italian artist with a background in painting, sculpture and photography. She also has a rooting interest in philosophy and literature, which is why she incorporates spirituality and mysticism into her work. Rafaella researches the interaction between colour and light from an artistic point of view, this has led her to experiment with noble materials such as gold and silver.
