Pantaleo Musarò is an Italian ceramist who is interested in psychology and human behaviour and character traits. He created the ceramic figurine The Snob as part of a series of ceramic sculptures that reflect different sides of human nature. The series show us how humans try to hide their vulnerability by behaving in a certain way. The Snob represents someone with an attitude of superiority, who frowns upon others. A plexiglass case puts emphasis on the his contempt towards the outside world. The figurine is hand sculpted in Italy, the nose is covered In 24 carat venetian gold leaf.
Pantaleo Musarò
Pantaleo Musarò (1960) is a multifaceted Italian artist who has developed his own style through direct experience in the field and collaboration with other artists. His constant experimentation with means and materials have made him move from informal and gestural art in the early eighties, to sculpture and installation and even to video and photography. Musarò observes the universality of human character traits. This includes the traits that are appraised by society, such as perseverance, but also those that are frowned upon, like cunningness and pride.
The Belgian company was founded in 1999, with a mission to spread new ideas and perspectives through works of art with strong decorative power. All Gardeco sculptures are handcrafted by skilled artisans, thus conveying a strong sense of authenticity. Gardeco could be considered an art publisher that represents artists and craftsmen. It’s where new ideas in art meet high-end decoration. A handcrafted and low technology-based production brings on a variation in all shapes and colours, and thereby a strong sense of authenticity to all of our products. Each mould in which our products are made, is made by hand, as well as the final refining details of each product.
