Ernesto Gismondi
Ernesto Gismondi was the founder, Chairman of Artemide Group. In 1957 he obtained a degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan and in 1959 he graduated in Missile Engineering at the Superiore School of Engineering in Rome. From the early '60s he dedicated himself to the design and production of lighting fixtures, founding with the designer Sergio Mazza Studio Artemide s.a.s., from which the Artemide Group will develop. He consecrates himself as an international designer, participating, as creator, in "Memphis", an avant-garde movement that has led to an evolution of the design sector in Italy and around the world and has designed several successful luminaires for the Group.
Founded in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi, chairman, the Artemide Group is located in Pregnana Milanese.
