Ernesto Gismondi

Ernesto Gismondi was the founder, Chairman of Artemide Group. In 1957 he obtained a degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano and in 1959 he graduated in Missile Engineering at the Superiore School of Engineering in Rome, and since the early '60s he has dedicated himself to the design and production of Luminaires for Lighting, founding with the designer Sergio Mazza Studio Artemide s.a.s., from which the Artemide Group will develop. Moreover, he consecrates himself as an international designer, participating, as creator, in "Memphis", an avant-garde movement that has determined an evolution of the design sector in Italy and worldwide and designing several successful luminaires for the Group.
