Davide Groppi - Shoji indoor floor lamp Davide Groppi Lampada da Terra Shoji Longho Design Palermo

The magic of the bedside lamp and the diffused light has once again conquered our hearts.
Using the technique used by Paola Lenti for the realization of her wonderful objects, we thought of a nylon lampshade strictly sewn and packaged by hand.
The lamp is available in indoor and outdoor versions.

Paola Lenti

Born in 1958 in Alessandria, Piedmont, after completing the Liceo Classico, Paola Lenti moved to Milan, where she graduated from the Politecnico and took her first steps in the professional world.

The first products launched by Paola Lenti on the market, however, are carpets, which already highlight the attention to materials that would have characterized the entire life of the newborn brand. To this aspect have been added over the years the continuous experimentation on yarns and fabrics, which led the company to create the first outdoor collections that have tied the brand image to the outdoor world with double thread, both for the quality of the manual workmanship and for a marked talent in the choice and in the combination of the colors.

Over time the world of Paola Lenti has been enriched with new solutions, which today also include the collections for interiors, but always with the same philosophy: whether it is sofas, armchairs, carpets, bookcases, tables or other furnishing accessories, the goal is to create real harmonious domestic landscapes, with objects able to dialogue with each other through shapes, materials and color.

Davide Groppi

Projects coming from the heart and brain, insights emerging from a certain way of being and thinking, where simplicity, lightness, emotion, invention and wonder are the key elements.

Since the late 1980s, starting from a very small workshop in Piacenza's historic center, Davide Groppi has been inventing and producing lamps under the homonymous brand. Over time, his creative and business independence allowed him to develop original and recognizable designs that are distributed worldwide. Projects coming from the heart and brain, insights emerging from a certain way of being and thinking, where simplicity, lightness, emotion, invention and wonder are the key elements. Groppi's lamps arise from the need to give shape to something that is necessary or significant. His inspirations are art, ready-made, magic, the desire to do things with his hands or simply the desire to play and have fun with light. The light, for Davide Groppi, is a wonderful opportunity to seduce and excite. Davide Groppi has always worked with a close-knit group of collaborators, with whom he shares all ideas. Over his many years of activity, he has developed projects and fitting along with several design companies including: De Padova, Boffi, Paola Lenti and Christofle. There are countless works around the world: houses, shops, museums. Significant activity in the hospitality sector. Some of the most important starred chefs have chosen Davide Groppi's light for their restaurants: Albert Adrià, Massimo Bottura, Massimiliano Alajmo, Moreno Cedroni, Carlo Cracco, Gennaro Esposito, Giancarlo Perbellini, Ciccio Sultano and many others. Davide Groppi's work has been repeatedly recognized through publications and awards. We remember the Edida Award, in 2011, for the Sampei lamp; the Design Plus Award, in 2014, for the Neuro lamp; the double XXIII ADI Compasso d'Oro, in 2014, for the Nulla and Sampei lamps; and the ADI Compasso D'Oro Mention of Honour Award for Tetatet, in 2016. The ADI Compasso d'Oro Award is considered the most historic and prestigious design award in the world. From June 2019, Sampei lights up the "Studio alla Vetrata" of the President of the Republic, as part of the "Quirinale Contemporaneo" project.
