Ingo Maurer -  Walking in the Rain floor lamp

Walking in the Rain is a large luminous object with a sculptural shape. Mounted on two red pedestals, it stands as a figure with feet and head. Three arched sheets arranged one above the other resemble a mantle. As inspiration for this exclusive object, Ingo Maurer cites the traditional straw woven raincoats worn by Japanese farmers. Like all models in the Mamo Nouchies series, the shell is made of Japanese paper carefully worked in different steps in the workshop of Dagmar Mombach, until you reach the desired shape. Inside, the heatsink is connected to two LED modules. The production was developed by Ingo Maurer GmbH specifically for the Mamo Nouchies. The light is warm and soft and hardly stands out from the halogen light. The sheets of paper act as diffusers. Walking in The Rain is a friendly presence for spaces that want more than just light.

Since the mid-1960s he has been creating special lamps and unique pieces that as an entrepreneur he produces and distributes worldwide.Since 1970 the headquarters of Ingo Maurer GmbH in Munich has been in the Schwabing district. A few years ago, however, the production and shipping departments moved to the outskirts of Munich having become in 2005 too cramped for space in the back yard at Kaiserstrasse 47.It has two large showrooms-the second after New York and the only one in all of Europe.
From creating lamps and lighting systems, setting up exhibitions and trade show appearances has been an increasing demand for the realization of designs, lighting planning and interior architectural work. Today, projects are an important component of our business.
