Ingo Maurer - nuunu floor lamp
A play of light with golden paper: the nuunu floor lamp is a filigree and poetic design object that reflects the poetry of a golden autumn. The nuunu by designer Flavia Thumshirn, who has been part of the design team for 20 years, produces a warm light thanks to the light and reflection of three golden cards, each attached to rods almost two meters high in stainless steel. The filigree rods are centered on a square base in blued steel, on which there are three glass spheres set at a defined distance. The glass spheres of the nuunu are made of high-quality crystal glass without inclusions and are illuminated from below in such a way that the glass spheres not only seem to shine, but also illuminate the golden paper from below. When it is switched on, the luminaire creates a beautiful play of shadows on the ceiling that varies depending on the brightness set. The nuunu has a "dim to warm" function, that is, the LEDs become warmer by decreasing the brightness. Even when turned off, the nuunu becomes a design object and therefore part of the furniture that reflects the ambient light on the English papers. The golden leaves can be rotated and adjusted as desired, changing the play of light and shadow. The gold leaf coating gives the paper, which has a diameter of about 20 cm, the appearance of autumn leaves on a branch. The rods, which are not rigid but can swing slightly and which taper upwards according to an organic design, recall the rods. With nuunu, Flavia Thumshirn creates a floor lamp as if it came from nature.

Ingo Maurer
Since the mid-1960s he has been creating special lamps and unique pieces that as an entrepreneur he produces and distributes worldwide.Since 1970 the headquarters of Ingo Maurer GmbH in Munich has been in the Schwabing district. A few years ago, however, the production and shipping departments moved to the outskirts of Munich having become in 2005 too cramped for space in the back yard at Kaiserstrasse 47.It has two large showrooms-the second after New York and the only one in all of Europe.
From creating lamps and lighting systems, setting up exhibitions and trade show appearances has been an increasing demand for the realization of designs, lighting planning and interior architectural work. Today, projects are an important component of our business.
