Barovier&Toso - Opera floor lamp
Inspired by the Opéra Garnier, it stands out for its eclectic and decorative character, expressed by stylistic blends and a marked compositional balance. The references to a certain Baroque sumptuousness are dampened by more minimal and contemporary aspects, in favor of a delicate and harmonious union. The design challenge was to enhance the craftsmanship and heritage of the company, for over seven centuries guardian of the art of glass. The result of this creative work is a timeless design, elegant, rich but not redundant, with a direct and incisive personality. The main element chosen by Nigro to characterize the collection is the working of the rostrum. This complex craft technique, of which Barovier & Toso holds the patent, was invented by Ercole Barovier in 1938 and consists of working by hand "flying" (free) the Venetian Crystal to obtain a continuous series of faceted prisms.
