FontanaArte -  Cheshire floor lamp medium

Floor lamp with direct light not dimmable. Painted metal frame. Top diffuser made of painted polycarbonate; bottom diffuser made of opaline polycarbonate. Transparent power cable, plug and switch. European two-pole plug. Bulb not included.  It echoes the studio’s Nordic imprint in its simplicity and functional aspects. The opaline polycarbonate diffuser ensures soft lighting, while the colored one spreads the light downwards in the table and floor versions or upwards in the hanging model.

Gamfratesi

Studio Gamfratesi was founded in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. The studio is based in Copenhagen. GamFratesi’s design take its creative drive from a fusion of tradition and innovation in an experimental approach to the materials and techniques selected. Each with their own traditional background, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi draw on classic Danish furniture and craftsmanship as well as a classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach. Understanding a tradition and actively addressing it  in the workshop allows it to be expanded it. From this cross-cultural substrate they create design that respectfully reflects tradition while also featuring unique embedded stories, symbols and associations, often expressed through minimalism way. GamFratesi aims to create furniture that illustrates the process and techniques that created it and reflects a persistent exploration of the several border zone between harmony and disharmony. They participate in numerous exhibitions; Milan, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Cologne, New York, Shanghai, London, Berlin, etc.

FontanaArte

Fontana Arte specializes in glass processing and the manufacture of furnishing accessories. Founded in 1881 in Milan by Luigi Fontana, it began as an industry producing glass sheets for building purposes. It had Giò Ponti, Pietro Chiesa and Max Ingrand as artistic directors. It gained notoriety especially for its processing of curved crystal and production of lighting applies. Lighting is also design; numerous brands make it possible to combine functionality with aesthetics, making lamps, wall sconces, and spotlights true pieces of furniture. Among them is FontanArte, which has marked the history of lighting design.
In over than 80 years of activity, the brand has received numerous awards, including the Compasso d'oro Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998, given by the ADI - Association for Industrial Design: "thanks to the collaboration with different designers, has been able to create a lively creative climate that has upgraded one of the historical names of Italian design."
