Alessi - Vimini basket white d21

Inspired by the traditional woven wicker baskets, Michel Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui have created an original object that, at the same time, gracefully evokes the shapes of those ancient artifacts. The Vimini basket is distinguished by a refined design: made through a process of drilling at the lasor of the steel plate, then shaped with a series of mechanical passages, testifies to the skill of the workshop Alessi in processing of this metal.

Boucquillon & Maaoui

Born in Belgium in 1962. In ‘2000, he opened a new workshop dedicated to Industrial Design and experimental Architecture in Lucca - Tuscany in his "CASA BOUCQUILLON", extremely experimental place of exploration, meditation, live and work. Michel actually works for the world most famous International Design companies. His work is present in several Museums and got many of the main international Awards. Donia Maaoui, Michel’s wife and an architect herself, works alongside her husband on some of the Alessi and Martinelliluce projects, although her principal occupation is cast bronze sculpture and painting.

Alessi founded in 1921 as a Workshop for the processing of brass and nickel-silver plates, with foundry, it is recognized for the high quality of its products. In nearly a century of history it has gradually evolved to become a leading exponent of the "Factories of Italian design".
