Born in Tokyo in 1942. In 1965, he designed the first pedal plane as a thesis in aerospace engineering at Nihon University in Tokyo and subsequently obtained his Master’s degree. In 1967 he moved to Italy and began the experience of design with the architect Alberto Rosselli of Studio Ponti-Fornaroli-Rosselli.
After several professional experiences he founded Isao Hosoe Design in 1985. He has won numerous international awards with his projects in the field of transport, office furniture, product design, telecommunications, electronics and domestic furniture.
He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Italy and abroad. Professor of Design at the Politecnico di Milano, at the Domus Academy, at the Isia in Florence, at the University of Siena, at the Institute of Design in Cagliari, visiting professor abroad.
