Arik Levy

Born in 1963 in Tel Aviv, Israel, he studied industrial design at the Art Center College of Design in La Tour-de-peilz, Switzerland. From 1992 to 1994, Levy taught at the École nationale supérieure de création industrielle / Les Ateliers in Paris and conducted design workshops in various design schools throughout Europe. He has also produced sets for modern dance productions at the Grand Theatre in Geneva, the Netherlands Dance Theatre, the Finnish National Ballet and the Batsheva Dance Company in Israel.
In 1997 he founded 'L design', an independent studio in Paris, together with Pippo Lionni. The studio’s activity extends from the creation of sculptures and installations to the development of industrial design and everyday products. Levy has been collaborating with Vitra since 2000, designing a range of office furniture and overseeing various projects.

Vitra is a Swiss company that produces furniture and interior design. Known for producing the works of important designers and architects.The headquarters are located in Weil am Rhein, Germany, where the famous Vitra Design Museum is also located.This story starts in the post-war years, when two Americans, both architects, Charles and Ray Eames, decided to help a furniture dealer.The collaboration led them to design and then produce masterpieces for interior design, which are still very current today.
