NasonMoretti - Pinocchio tall grey orange

Pinocchio is the elementary but very effective combination of a few geometric shapes: a cylinder, a sphere, the cone of the hat and of course the pointed and thin projection of the nose. Its iconic strength lays also in its immediate formal recognizability, while its simple shape suits perfectly the blowing technique of the master glassmakers of NasonMoretti. The result is a joyful and colorful family of Pinocchi who observe us by pointing their nose towards us.

Giulio Iacchetti

Giulio Iacchetti, industrial designer since 1992, designs for many brands including Alessi. The distinctive characteristics of his work is the research of new object typologies, like the Moscardino, the biodegradable spoon/fork designed with Matteo Ragni and for which, in 2001, he has been awarded with Compasso d’Oro. In 2009 he was awarded the prize for innovation – Premio dei Premi – by the President of the Italian Republic for the Coop Eureka project. In May 2009 the Triennale di Milano held a solo exhibition entitled Giulio Iacchetti. Disobedient objects. In 2014, he won his second Compasso d’Oro for the design of the manhole covers Sfera, designed with Matteo Ragni for Montini.

NasonMoretti

NasonMoretti was born in 1923, in a period of great success for Italian visual arts. The company was ground-breaking compared with the emerging artistic trends: its chalices and glasses soon become the undisputed reference for the Venetian "ART OF THE TABLE". It has decorated the tables of the most prestigious lineages but also those of the everyday life with a special taste for refinement. NasonMoretti's fame spread nationally and internationally during the fifties, until 1955 when the firm won the second edition of the Compasso d'Oro award. NasonMoretti's peculiarity is its ability to represent a cultural avant-garde, able to pick up influences and contaminations typical of the world of art and design. This characteristic has promoted numerous collaborations with famous Italian and foreign fashion brands such as Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Bottega Veneta and Hermès, but also with jewellers like Tiffany & Co., luxurious restaurants and bakeries as Harry's Bar and Gualtiero Marchesi, exclusive clubs in London, royalties and the Quirinale, proclaiming NasonMoretti's fame by virtue of simplicity, which has marked this family brand for 100 years.
