Maxalto - Dike headboard

The Dike headboard with its decidedly unusual dimensions, a distinctive element that creates a new category of furniture. Antonio Citterio has imagined two panels, ending with two mobile elements, anchored through the use of an elegant full-height hinge. This headboard becomes almost a theatrical backdrop or a structural element, made even more sophisticated by the choice of the covering material.

In fact, Dike introduces a fabric designed ad hoc, with a heightened three-dimensionality and a clearly visible texture, almost a tapestry that is composed of horizontal bands that create plays of light and colors that blend gently into each other. A new luxury and refined type, hyperbolic but extremely calibrated, soft and rational, which underlines the renewed desire for excellence and rarity by Maxalto.

The headboard is available in two heights: 150cm and 200cm. It is recommended to fix the headboard 5 cm from the ground to allow the passage of cables. The Dike headboard can be used in combination with the Bauci, Filemone and Dike beds.

Antonio Citterio

Born in Meda in 1950, he opened his own design studio in 1972 and graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1975. Between 1987 and 1996 he was associated with Terry Dwan; together they built buildings in Europe and Japan. In 2000, with Patricia Viel, he founded a design company, active at an international level, which develops complex design programs, at all scales and in synergy with a qualified network of specialist consultancies. The studio has now assumed the name of “Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel”. In the industrial design sector he currently collaborates with Italian and foreign companies such as Ansorg, Arclinea, Axor-Hansgrohe, B&B Italia, Flexform, Flos, Hermès, Iittala, Kartell, Maxalto, Sanitec (Geberit Group), Technogym and Vitra. Another important fact, in 1987 and 1994 Antonio Citterio was awarded the Compasso d'Oro-ADI. Since 2006 he has been teaching architectural design at the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture (Switzerland). In 2008 he received the honor "Royal Designer for Industry" from the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers & Commerce in London.

Maxalto

Maxalto was founded in 1975 as a company alongside B&B Italia, defining its own precise identity in the specialized production of highly handcrafted furniture. Seeking the highest quality in terms of materials and workmanship is the goal of excellence stated right from the name: Indeed,Maxalto coming from the Venetian dialect terms "massa alto," meaning "the highest."
