Opinion Ciatti - Berberé bed for dogs
A bed for the relaxation of our four-legged friends both at home and on the go. With Beré, the kennel designed by Raffaella Mangiarotti, Opinion Ciatti has appeared for the first time in the world of pet furniture.
A portable object designed to combine practicality and comfort, easy to carry and refined in its details thanks to the mix of materials chosen. Berber evokes exotic travel atmospheres and caters to animal lovers who love design and travel with comfort and style.
Like the mixture of spices with an intense flavor that enriches the dishes of North African cuisine, from which Berberé takes its name, the kennel combines the "flavors" of different materials: the ash wood of the structure is accompanied by the leather of the bed (available in natural or black leather), while the bag is made of a practical washable fabric.
In designing this kennel Raffaella Mangiarotti was inspired by the shapes of the field beds and designed a manual interlocking system, without glue or screws, which make it easy to disassemble and recompose with a few simple gestures but above all ready to be stored in its bag and transported easily.
The leather surface gives a refined look to this cot that wants to be a piece of furniture that integrates naturally in any environment in which it is inserted, not subject to stylistic constraints but, following its absolute need for freedom, able to recreate home in every new context.
The structure is completed by a washable, double-face and two-color upholstered mattress that gives more comfort and enriches the aesthetics.
Berberé has been declared winner of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2022 in the Lifestyle category. With this award, the jury wanted to emphasize the originality, the high-level design and the accurate production techniques behind the project.

Opinion Ciatti
Opinion Ciatti is a company founded in 1950 in Florence that produces accessories and design furnishing including bookcases, tables and chairs; for the home, work and common spaces. A wide range of concrete and very identifiable objects, able with their presence, their touch, to characterise an atmosphere, personalise an environment. It all begins with an intuition of Rolando Ciatti. As a curious and attentive observer of a world that is changing so fast around him, he understands that a place in the house must be found for that strange, new object – the television - which was about to shake the Italians habit. That’s how Ciatti was founded, in Borgo San Frediano, in Florence Oltrarno, as the first company in Italy to produce TV benches. In 2003 the Ciatti family meets Bruno Rainaldi. Along they found CCR design, a new company focused on the development of home objects and accessories. Under the art direction of Mr Rainaldi, important names in Italian design start creating storage objects, chairs, mirrors, all characterized by a strong and bold personality. In 2004, Original Ptolomeo, the free-standing bookshelf by Bruno Rainaldi, wins the Compasso d’Oro award. Basic but revolutionary, new and with a great impact, as sudden as an intuition; Ptolomeo soon becomes the company’s best-selling item and an icon of contemporary design.
