Mogg – Beam coffee table/bench

Beam is a multifunction low table made by an old wood, equipped with lead-painted metal top. The rustic appearance of wood, deliberately not treated, allows to exploit its full expressive value. The Irregularities of this old wood have to be considered a quality and not a defect, which thus characterizes each piece.

His approach of the object is determined by a sensitive outlook on today’s world. He attempt to translate in 3 dimensions a world of perception: touch becomes volume, visual becomes color, and frequency becomes shape. Material has its own vocabulary, he attempt to compose with it, to create my own language, based on applying, superimposing and confrontating different materials. Therefore the object gets a meaning. It evokes, insinuates, questions. Single or multiple, its meaning becomes coherent.

MOGG srl is a new furniture company, which opens its doors at the Salone del Mobile in Milan 2012. Company was born from the desire of its founder, the architect Nicola Galbiati. MObili (furniture) OGGetti (objects), hence the name MOGG:a versatile design expression that comes alive in impactful and distinctive products. Graphic cuts opposed to curved lines, warm materials combined with those cold, dynamism and versatility characterize the production. The naturalness is the hallmark of Mogg when everything is studied in detail. Today Mogg is distributed all around the world by the support of 25 agents.
