Hella Jongerius

Hella Jongerius has become known for the way she fuses industry and craftsmanship, high- and low-tech, traditional and contemporary. In 1993 he founded the studio Jongeriuslab, in which he carried out independent projects. He also created products for important customers, including Maharam, Danskina, IKEA and KLM.
For Vitra, the Dutch designer has designed characteristic pieces such as the Polder Sofa and the East River Chair. Jongerius has consistently investigated the importance of colours and surfaces in contemporary design through her fabric and ceramic works as well as her furniture. Moreover has created the Vitra Colour & Material Library - a system that allows the versatile combination of several materials and colours within the vast collection of Vitra products. Hella Jongerius has also written a book about this complex project, titled 'I don’t have a favourite colour'.
Hella Jongerius' works have been exhibited in museums and galleries such as the Design Museum (London), the Galerie kreo (Paris) and the Moss Gallery (New York).

Vitra

Vitra is a Swiss company that produces furniture and interior design. Known for producing the works of important designers and architects.The headquarters are located in Weil am Rhein, Germany, where the famous Vitra Design Museum is also located.This story starts in the post-war years, when two Americans, both architects, Charles and Ray Eames, decided to help a furniture dealer.The collaboration led them to design and then produce masterpieces for interior design, which are still very current today.
