Magis - Steelwood coat stand black

Steelwood coat stand is a solid wood coat stand produced by Magis and designed by brothers Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec. Steelwood combines two traditional materials in a completely unique and innovative way: steel and wood, as is also suggested by its name. The coat stand is characterised by a triangular shape that allows it to be positioned even in tight spaces. The frame is made of solid beech or walnut, or painted in two colours. The joints are made of sheet steel painted with matching epoxy resin.

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec

Formal perfection, clear lines and creative freedom. These are the watchwords in the designs of the French brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. Ronan Bouroullec (born 1971) and Erwan Bouroullec (born 1976), they both graduated in art and founded their own studio in the late 1990s.They have been working together for nearly a decade. After being noticed by Giulio Cappellini and receiving their first industrial design commissions, the brothers established themselves on the international scene thanks to a collaboration with Vitra. Bouroullec brothers work for some of the most important international design brands such as Ligne Roset, Flos, Magis, and are able to join essential shapes with innovative materials and environmentally friendly manufacturing. This allowed them to win, among other awards, the prestigious Wallpaper* Design Award 2016 in the category "Best Designers of the Year".
