Opinion Ciatti - Ramo white wall coat stand

An accessory that pays tribute to the two most important materials used over the centuries – wood in its shape and metal in its substance – Ramo is a sculpture that interprets the coat stand and is also a rather clear reference to what was quite possible the first “hanger” in history.

The two hooks - covered by two of the three main branches the hanger is made of - allow it to hang from a wall and therefore does not need to rest on a base. Ramo artistically reinterprets a branch resting on a wall, which nevertheless does not forget its functional nature; its 11 tiny branches act as hooks and turn it into a clothes hanger, which ensures great capacity in a limited space.

Available in three finishes – pure white, corten effect to give an ancient nuance and a refined galvanic gold plating - it is a piece that positively embellishes all the environment it is hosted in, whether public or private.

Ramo is part of the capsule collection Atavica, presented during the 58th edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Marcantonio

Marcantonio was born in 1976 and he attended the Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts. After graduating, he began working as a theatre set designer and collaborating with several architects.He soon began to create unique design pieces along with an Artistic production, but step by step the two careers began to link each other. Thus, his design is enriched with artistic concepts. Since 2001, he has been working on sculptures, art objects and design projects. His favorite theme is related to the connections between man and nature, in interpreting the dynamics and beauty of nature by showing man's attitude modifying the original. He has learnt from Art how an idea can be elegant, which is why he is always looking for pure and synthetic concepts."I never give up irony, irony is a serious thing. If a good idea is also funny, I cannot help but realise it'. 

Opinion Ciatti

Opinion Ciatti is a company founded in 1950 in Florence that produces accessories and design furnishing including bookcases, tables and chairs; for the home, work and common spaces. A wide range of concrete and very identifiable objects, able with their presence, their touch, to characterise an atmosphere, personalise an environment. It all begins with an intuition of Rolando Ciatti. As a curious and attentive observer of a world that is changing so fast around him, he understands that a place in the house must be found for that strange, new object – the television - which was about to shake the Italians habit. That’s how Ciatti was founded, in Borgo San Frediano, in Florence Oltrarno, as the first company in Italy to produce TV benches. In 2003  the Ciatti family meets Bruno Rainaldi. Along they found CCR design, a new company focused on the development of home objects and accessories. Under the art direction of Mr Rainaldi, important names in Italian design start creating storage objects, chairs, mirrors, all characterized by a strong and bold personality. In 2004, Original Ptolomeo, the free-standing bookshelf by Bruno Rainaldi, wins the Compasso d’Oro award. Basic but revolutionary, new and with a great impact, as sudden as an intuition; Ptolomeo soon becomes the company’s best-selling item and an icon of contemporary design.
