Molteni - Comodino 5050

Molteni - 5050 glossy red bedside tables

The wealth of materials used and a rigorous design are the elements that characterize 5050, a collection of bedroom furniture designed by Rodolfo Dordoni.

Gloss or matt lacquered surfaces alternate with wooden tops and Eco Skin trays, creating alternating color effects that please the eye and underscore the play of solids and voids of a geometric design that is never banal. An interesting feature is the rounded contour of the structural elements that make up bedside tables and chests of drawers.

Side shoulders, front and back are available in matt or glossy lacquer in the colours of the Molteni range, top and base in Eucalyptus or graphite oak.

Rodolfo Dordoni

Rodolfo Dordoni was born in Milan in 1954 where he graduated in architecture in 1979. From 1979 to 1989 he was the Head of art direction and coordination of the corporate image for Cappellini International. It has a wide collection of product design types including lamps and furniture, kitchens, bathroom accessories, objects and rugs. He also was the Head of art direction of Artemide, Cappellini (from 1979 to 1989), Fontana Arte, Foscarini (lamps), Minotti (since 1998) and Roda (since 2006).

He designs today for several brands including: Artemide, Cassina, Driade, Emu, Ernestomeda, Fiam, Flos, Flou, Fontana Arte, Foscarini, Minotti, Molteni, Moroso, Roda, Venini and many others. He founded Dordoni Architetti in collaboration with the architects Alessandro Acerbi and Luca Zaniboni. Since he has worked in his studio for many years, they focused their work on both architectural design and interior design. They also designed worldwide houses and residential buildings, industrial and commercial areas such as offices, shops and showrooms, restaurants, hotels, as well as many exhibition stands for several companies in several sectors.

Molteni

Angelo Molteni, born in 1912, began his entrepreneurial activity in Giussano, now the province of Monza and Brianza, the furniture district. His workshop becomes, in a short time, synonymous with high quality product. The 60s began in the best way, in fact Angelo Molteni is in the founding committee of the first Salone del Mobile in Milan, which opened on 24 September 1961 with great success. This is the decade of the revolution: in a few months, the production is converted from classic to modern, to create well-designed furniture, designed for the series. Luca Meda, a student of the Ulm School, is the man of the revolution, his Iride containers presented at the Salone del Mobile in 1968. From the 70s until today, Molteni grows, is renewed and concretizes in a definitive way its value, and the undisputed style in the world panorama. In 2008 the distribution expanded beyond the Italian borders and was structured with foreign branches. New molteni&c | Dada monobrand stores are opening: about 600 in the world, including 40 Flagship Stores, also present in the largest international design metropolises such as London and New York. Moltenigroup.com is born, the web address of the new website of the Molteni Group. Key words are narration, inspiration, contemporaneity of molteni&c and Dada brands. As of April 2016, Belgian architect and designer Vincent Van Duysen has been appointed creative director of molteni&c and Dada. After the success of the Gliss Master wardrobe collection, the new collaboration focuses on image coordination and the retail concept.
