Nendo
Japanese designer born, however in Canada in 1977. Sato graduated in 2000 and specialised in 2002 in architecture at Waseda University of Tokyo. Led by architect Oki Sato, the collective of professionals who have come together under the name Nendo have been representing a cultured and refined alternative to self-celebrated and egoriferous design since 2002. The Japanese term "Nendo", indeed, means "clay" and the work of the studio, which ranges from interior architecture to the world of furniture and graphics, aims to restore this image of flexibility and pliability inherent in matter. In 2003 he took part in the Salone Satellite in Milan, obtaining a Special Mention in the German magazine Design Report, and also won the design prize at the Tokyo Design Week. Later, he participated in all the major international fairs (Paris, Cologne, Stockholm, Milan), obtained the Good Design Award, is widely published by the magazine Abitare and noticed by numerous international companies. The following year, indeed, he simultaneously presented products for Oluce, De Padova and Swedese at the Salone di Milano. In 2006 Nendo began his collaboration with Cappellini. The road was now marked and Oki Sato/Nendo, in just a few years, revealed himself as one of the most promising designers on the international scene. At the 2007 edition of Euroluce, his Switch lamp for Oluce is absolutely among the most admired products.

Cappellini is an Italian design company, founded in Carugo in 1946 by Enrico Cappellini.
