Maxalto - Dike double bed

The bed Dike is characterized by the floor covering in harmony with a precious conception of the sleeping area. The structure of the bed can be covered with many fabrics in the collection. Feet in black painted steel. Wheels in black plastic material.

The double bed has an unusually large headboard that resembles a theatrical fifth. The model is, in fact, equipped with two panels of 2 meters by 125 cm ending with two mobile elements anchored through an elegant full-height hinge. Therefore, the bed can be combined, in addition to the head of the same series, also with all the heads in the collection (Erik, Ovidio).

Antonio Citterio

Born in Meda in 1950, he opened his own design studio in 1972 and graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1975. Between 1987 and 1996 he was associated with Terry Dwan; together they built buildings in Europe and Japan. In 2000, with Patricia Viel, he founded a design company, active at an international level, which develops complex design programs, at all scales and in synergy with a qualified network of specialist consultancies. The studio has now assumed the name of “Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel”. In the industrial design sector he currently collaborates with Italian and foreign companies such as Ansorg, Arclinea, Axor-Hansgrohe, B&B Italia, Flexform, Flos, Hermès, Iittala, Kartell, Maxalto, Sanitec (Geberit Group), Technogym and Vitra. Another important fact, in 1987 and 1994 Antonio Citterio was awarded the Compasso d'Oro-ADI. Since 2006 he has been teaching architectural design at the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture (Switzerland). In 2008 he received the honor "Royal Designer for Industry" from the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers & Commerce in London.

Maxalto

Maxalto was founded in 1975 as a company alongside B&B Italia, defining its own precise identity in the specialized production of highly handcrafted furniture. Seeking the highest quality in terms of materials and workmanship is the goal of excellence stated right from the name: Indeed,Maxalto coming from the Venetian dialect terms "massa alto," meaning "the highest." Maxalto is recognised worldwide for its unique way of balancing tradition and innovation, as well as its distinctive and beautiful use of high-quality materials, especially wood, of which Afra and Tobia Scarpa have been the interpreters, making wood the protagonist by designing a series of wooden furniture.Since 1993, the Maxalto collections have been overseen by architect Antonio Citterio, who has continually expanded the product series so that it now incorporates whole living room and bedroom ranges. The home furniture conceived by Afra and Tobia Scarpa quickly established itself as a benchmark of Italian design. A collection of fine wooden furniture completely "made in Italy."
