Daniel Libeskind, internationally renowned in the world of architecture and urban design, has designed for FIAM several furniture accessories in curved glass: the mirrors The wing, Mirage and Mirage tv, and the desk Scribe. Libeskind was born in Poland after the war (1946) and became an American citizen in 1965. After studying music in Israel and New York, becoming an acclaimed soloist, he decided to leave everything to study architecture. He graduated in 1970 from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York and in 1972 he also obtained a Master’s degree in History and Theory of Architecture from the Comparative Studies at Essex University in England. Daniel Libeskind’s ongoing research to broaden the boundaries of architecture by adopting a multidisciplinary approach reflects his deep interest and involvement in philosophy, art, literature and music. A fundamental point of his approach is the idea that every construction evolves through human energy and consistently addresses the broad cultural context in which it emerges.
Today he lives in New York with his wife and business partner Nina Libeskind.
