Born in 1981, Giacomo Moor began from an early age to work in a carpenter’s workshop. After graduating in Design with a thesis on the imperfections of wood, published in the Italian magazine “Abitare”, he opened a workshop studio in Milan together with his partner. Together with his multidisciplinary team of carpenters and designers, he designs products for companies, creates collections for design galleries and designs and produces interiors for private clients, supervising the entire creative process.
Moor combines the precision and accuracy of design with the sensitivity of hands-on experience. His empirical, committed approach and his ability to combine technical and aesthetical skills, whilst anticipating issues inherent in the processing of materials, are consistent features of the way he works. In 2016, he was nominated “Best Young Designer” on the occasion of EDIDA by Elle Decor Italia and in the same year he collected the Salone del Mobile “Best Young Designer” Award. In 2017 he won the Wallpaper Award with "Kit del Legnamè" and in 2018 was a winner at the Land Rover Born Awards. He took part in exhibitions in Paris, London, New York, Singapore, Porto and other cities.
