Sebastian Herkner

Sebastian Herkner was born in Bad Mergentheim in 1981. He studied at the University of Art and Design, focusing on the design of objects and furniture, combining various cultural contexts, combining new technologies with traditional craftsmanship. In this he wants to highlight the multifaceted beauty of the materials bringing the attention to small details. While still a student he does an internship at Stella McCartney in London, which helps him perfect his taste for materials, colors, textures and textures.
In 2006 he opened his own studio in Offenbach. His projects received several awards, such as the German Design Award in 2011 for the newcomer category, the EDIDA award in 2015 for the Best International Newcomer, Guest of Honour at IMM in Cologne in 2016 and Designer of the Year 2019 at Maison & Objet in Paris. He has been collaborating with Zanotta since 2019.
