Eric Solé

Eric Solé was born in 1960 in Paris. His first projects focused more on technical research into the principles of transformation, folding chairs, office lamps or the use of materials to exploit their structural properties. His interest in lighting design is due in particular to the continuous evolution of the availability of raw materials. More than new materials there is above all the appearance of several sources, sizes, shapes and techniques. It is this innovation that, according to him, makes it impossible to anticipate the shape of a lighting fixture. " A beautiful lamp must be like a living object, transforming itself when it is lit. It must speak to us, illuminate us and give us comfort when it is dark." His Mesmeri applique is a reflection of this magic. He died on 20 June 2015 in Spain.
